Part-time New Jersey

The Supports Coordinator will engage individuals and their families in the development of plans that assure the needs, choices, and interests of the individual are addressed and life opportunities expanded. Support Coordinators assist in the choice of services and supports, coordinate the provision of services, and monitor the delivery of services and supports.

The position will help promote individuality and choice. The right candidate will perform their duties consistent with the values, principles, and philosophy of the Division of Development Disabilities and all applicable policies and procedures. The Support Coordinator will need to have a strong foundation of experience in providing support coordination or services to people with cognitive disabilities, and a strong belief that people with disabilities can achieve outcomes, have value and contribute to their community.

Requirements:

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field 
• Must be able to pass all state and federal background checks.
• Must have experience working with individuals with disabilities for at least one year.
• Must have a valid NJ driver’s License

Direct Support Professionals work with individuals with mental or developmental disabilities by creating behavior plans, teaching self-care skills, cooking meals, and doing laundry. 

Additional duties may include: 

• Assisting clients with daily personal tasks, including bathing and dressing
• Completing housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, washing dishes, and tidying
• Helping to plan client appointments and organize schedules
• Organizing transportation arrangements for appointments
• Shopping for groceries and preparing meals that meet specific client's dietary needs
• Encouraging client engagement in social networks and communities

Requirements

• Must have at least a high school diploma or GED
• Must be able to pass all state and federal background checks.
• Must have experience working with individuals with disabilities for at least one year.
• Must have a valid NJ driver’s License.

NJ DDD Supports Program

We are seeking Program Coordinators to manage, coordinate, and oversee the New Jersey DDD Supports Program. 

Additional responsibilities include:

• Supervise the program’s staff
• Schedule program work, oversee daily operations, coordinate the activities of the program, and set priorities for managing the program
• Manage marketing and outreach to the community
• Prepare or assist with the end-of-month billing of the program 

Requirements:

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field.
• Must be able to pass all state and federal background checks.
• Must have at least 3 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Must have an NJ driver’s License.
• Must have past experience with NJ DDD Supports Program and its requirements
